What is included?

A Socrates license grants your organization a set number of user accounts at varying levels of privilege. Licenses are renewed annually. Pricing is based on the number of users and their assigned role.

Your annual license includes:

access to Socrates - there are no limits on the number of arguments or size of argument you wish to create.
five user seats are included with the developer or administrator role; additional seats may be added to the license.
unlimited reader seats.
updates, including patches, improvements and new features as they become available.
user support with response within one business day.
IT support for self-hosted deployments during installation and updates.

User Type Description:

Reader – A Reader can view and navigate argument trees.
Reviewer – In addition to Reader privileges, a Reviewer can also enter comments and raise issues.
Developer – Developers have all functionality necessary to create, modify and view arguments, and control access to arguments.
Administrator – Privileged account with full control over the application, allowing management of settings and user access controls.

This trial provides access to a private instance of Socrates on a Cloud server for a limited period of time.

Commercial
Commercial licenses for Socrates are available for purchase.
Pricing is based on the number of user seats and their assigned roles.

Academic
A Socrates license is available upon request for non-commercial research and educational uses.

Hosting and Deployment

Hosted by your organization
Socrates can be deployed on the infrastructure within your organization behind your firewall.

Hosted by CSL
Socrates can be hosted by Critical Systems Labs on a cloud server.

Consulting and Training

Consulting:
CSL offers professional services in the areas of assurance case preparation, team coaching/guidance, and review.

Training:
Training provides an introduction to the functionality of Socrates using worked examples. The sessions cover the basics of Socrates assurance case preparation using structured notations such as GSN and Eliminative Argumentation (EA).
